x’s and o’s {an entry in Blogger’s Quilt Festival}

Most of my readers may have heard about the Blogger’s Quilt Fesival hosted by Amy Ellis of Amy’s Creative Side. I have decided this year, to boost the inspiration and motivation seeking {and perhaps provide some in return?!} to enter my x’s and o’s quilt in the 2014 Spring Blogger’s Quilt Festival in the large quilt category. This quilt is currently in NSW having been entered in the quilting section of a local agricultural show in my hometown {which is totally a big deal!}.

For those new to this site – welcome! Thankyou for stopping by to have a look around and to say hi! Firstly, and foremostly, I am a wife and mum to one {and a half – due November 2014}, daughter, sister, teacher, sewer, quilter and friend. We live and work on a large cattle station in South West QLD, Australia.

I love sewing and handicrafts with always a project {or two!} on the go. Having made my first quilt at fourteen, on the floor of my Grandma’s sewing room, I have a real love and passion for quilting. I set out to design and share my patterns, drawing inspiration from those around me and the gorgeous fabrics available to play with. I’m a firm believer that a sewer and quilter can never have enough fabric {just ask my husband!}, and my designs all work to showcase the colour and pattern found in each.

The X’s and O’s quilt was originally designed as a charm pack baby quilt for a gorgeous work colleague and friend of ours – I loved the lattice effect it gave so much, and the simplicity of the design and piecing I set to making a twin {single bed} size and writing the corresponding pattern. Something that had a modern edge but was still sweet and showcased those gorgeous Scrumptious fabrics!

X’s one way, and O’s the other – just like a giant game of tic-tac-toe {perfect also for these kinds of toes!}.
