Amanda Herring is hands-down one of my favourite fabric designers. She has impeccable style when it comes to putting colours and prints together, and the girl knows how to do floral!! There hasn’t been a collection I haven’t loved, whether its the rich colour palette, or the perfect mix of pattern and scale.
When Amanda asked me to be involved in the blog tour of her latest collection Flora and Fawn for Riley Blake Designs I quickly said yes, and got planning my projects. I love the sweet, whimsical motifs in each of the prints in this collection, but fell head over heels in love with those little mushrooms! I love the simplicity of these prints, but the sophistication and gorgeous use of colour. A collection is a show-stopper if I cannot bear to break it apart, yet can use each print on its own.

I haven’t been doing near as much sewing as I would like but wanted to make something quick and easy for my girls. With life heading into the summer holiday period, these little playsuits or rompers are perfect. I used the Kwik Sew Ellie Mae collection pattern K0233 pattern. for this project. I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! Adorable ruffles and a belted sash give it that extra something special. The girls are so excited about their new playsuits and got busy this afternoon playing for our “photo shoot”.

A full view of swatches can be viewed at the Riley Blake Designs website. Flora and Fawn is shipping to stores now.
