its a giveaway {and a free cross-stitch design!}

So I bought a car just before Christmas and I took delivery of it this week {safe to say I’m super excited to have my own car again}. So with my new purchase {which I like to think I’m sharing with the bank…} I have ended up with a set of car keys yes?… Most of my readers {friends and family} are seriously rolling their eyes at me right now – I can just tell!… but yes with a new car brings new keys, and a new key ring – but not the ordinary car dealership key ring that you may be thinking – one that is all prettied up by yours truly.

So in anticipation of my new car keys and being able to use them I designed a very simple, very quick to stitch {and therefore super-affirming}, little cross stitch key ring design using the frames or ‘charms’ from Leutenegger & DMC’s {make it} range of timber cross stitch kits.

You can buy the kits in any Spotlight or local craft stores or both the individual frames and kits online from here or here. They have released iPhone cover kits also {which just might be a to-do project for this year?!}. The kits come complete with two charms, DMC embroidery floss and brilliant little design charts, as well as a full alphabet sampler for personalising your charm. Kits and charms are available in circle, flower, owl, oval, babushka as well as the heart shapes. These charms are perfect for brooches, necklaces, bag charms, a hanging mobile or {you guessed it…} key rings!

You can ddownload your free cross-stitch key ring design chart here here. Just stitch it up, add a jump ring or two, and a split-ring key ring to complete your little make {and if you’re like me, your husband will have many lonely key rings floating around that you can ‘borrow’ parts from!?}.

On to the giveaway {and no, I’m afraid its not a new car!}. For your chance to win your own {make it} timber cross stitch kit in the heart design please leave me some comment love. Followers get a second entry by commenting ‘I’m a …{bloglovin’/facebook/feedly/similar reader} follower!’. Giveaway will be selected by and announced next Sunday 26th January 2014.

Good luck!
