When I was given the opportunity to work with Natalie Lymer‘s latest collection Greatest Adventure I almost squealed ‘yes!’. I love Natalie’s design style – her characters and her prints are so whimsical and full of charm. These little guys, along with the maps, the arrows and that gorgeous text print make for such a gorgeous {and versatile!} collection. Natalie is also such a gorgeous person, and a super talented Australian fabric designer. We really are so lucky to have so many great designers amongst us!

I am so touched by everyone’s support of our latest designs {you really do make it easy to keep doing what I love!} I wanted to give you all something back. Going Up! is a basic baby quilt design which has been around my block once or twice before, so it was perfect timing to bring it to you as a free pattern download. I love the simplicity of this pattern, and in adding extra blocks can be made into whatever size you wish!.

Starting with 10″ squares this pattern uses Easy Corner Triangles to create arrow blocks with minimal seams and joins, set in half-drop columns. Setting this quilt in a simple grid would also completely change the overall design and appeal of this quilt.

this is super cute! Thank you for sharing the pattern!
Adorable! Great pattern for the fabric, shows it off beautifully!
Thank you for a fun pattern! A great way to use a layer cake. 🙂
Thanks for sharing this wonderful pattern. I just completed it for my new niece as a Christmas gift.
Thankyou so much Heather! I would love to see your finished quilt! xx
This is so clever and innovative!
I love this pattern and so too does my friend who is expecting her first grandchild and wants me to make a quilt like it. The only problem is that I will be using mostly fat quarters and I’m wondering if you could help me troubleshoot a few steps. For example, instead of cutting the fabric into 10″ x 10″ squares, wouldn’t it make more sense to cut the main fabrics into 3 3/4″ x 10″ pieces so that I can make the best use of the fat quarters with less waste?
