hst mini quilt {a just because}

Firstly, wow! Thankyou so much to everyone who has emailed me, left comments and entered the giveaway for my x’s and o’s pattern {open until 14 March 2014}. Thankyou to those who have purchased the pattern already {half off until 14 March 2014}, and to those who have plans to make it. Thankyou to Kimberley and the wonderful team at the Fat Quarter Shop for their support and sponsorship of the $50 gift voucher – such a generous giveaway prize. I can’t wait to announce the winner!

I love you all for your support, your friendship and for making this all just a little bit real. I’m like a giggly school girl everytime my ipad pings with a new email and comment, I was like a blubbering mess when I did make that first sale! It is all real, and I couldn’t have done it without you all! Did I say wow? {Wow!}.

This little project is a just because project – I was sent a mini charm pack {only a half size one – so a mini mini!} of Moda Bella Solids with a {much larger… shh!} fabric purchase a month or so ago. The pack didn’t have the listing of colour codes so I’m unable to tell you which  they are {please if you are able to shed light on this leave me a note!} – but I love the mixes together – those dark plums just make the yellows and that petal pink pop!

I quickly sewed these into mini half square triangles and all up into a whopping 6.5″ x 8″ mini quilt – just perfect to stick on the design board for quick burst of colour {sometimes my day needs a quick burst of colour!} or for resting those mugs that seem to sit on most surfaces I inhabit!

Completely random in design and colour placement, and quilted following the direction of those half square triangles – love the no-brainer aspect to this project, love the colour, love the solids. I am planning a new pattern which uses all Moda Bella Solids which I can’t wait to show you. If its anything like the last pattern release I’ll be the one walking with the smile plastered from ear to ear.

Would love to know what sort of quilt-y mood you are in?

  1. Cute little project! I’ve been thinking about solids alot lately and want to start making “solids only” quilts. Congratulations on everything:)
