sneak peeks {more than a few plans!}

The holidays have bought with them lots of planning {and dreaming!!} time – I’ve been sketching, pulling fabrics {with maybe a few purchases of absolute need-to-have-fabrics to finish or start projects}, calculating and naming {just a tad ahead of myself} some new quilt patterns to release this year {some for the shop, some free downloads}, pinning {and pining for the time to do them!?} gorgeous diy projects.

I’ve been organising my sewing room, my pantry, my kid’s clothes and my office. I’m planning to tackle the Tupperware cupboard {but to be honest am more than a little scared!} and re-do our laundry room. My honey-do list is brimming {FJ has put his foot down though, and has his own projects to do before he attempts any of mine!} with more than a few projects in mind.

With all the organising I’ve come across fabrics and patterns and am just a little bit excited to get started on them – I have created ‘piles’ along the top of my cupboard – one is for those projects I have to get finished {or started} – some sewing for mum, a dress for my sister and a baby quilt for a gorgeous new mumma.

The next is a pile of projects I’d like to attempt next – like a skirt for me {out of the funkiest geometric print by Prints Charming} and a geranium top with a very old-fashioned feel for my little miss. The next pile is home decor stuff – like the canvas I bought a long {long} time ago to recover the chairs on our deck, and the fabric to re-create a rosette pillow I longed for about two years ago… {you all know the one!}.

Then there are of course the projects in my head {so hard to give you a sneak peek of these ones – you’ll just have to trust me} that I am so excited about. I’m working on bake shop submissions, and pattern co. newbies. Quilts in cot size, quilts in twin and queen, an old favourite {or two}, some moderns and a doll quilt perfect for scraps.

How have your holidays treated you? Have you big plans for 2014 – quilting or otherwise?
