Sweet Prairie Blog Tour

Hi! Welcome to my stop on the Riley Blake Designs Sweet Prairie Blog Tour! I’m so excited you are here to join me to celebrate this gorgeous new fabric range by Sedef Imer.

I fell in love with the Sweet Prairie prints the moment I saw them – such a beautiful colour palette, in so many amazing prints. I love that these patterns compliment each other so beautifully, yet can be used on their own with so much versatility. Sedef’s style is impeccable – she creates stunning fabric lines, her styling is to die for and she puts her own special touch in all the projects she makes.

The sweet little florals, all over pin dots and that bias gingham has me weak at the knees! I’m loving the mix of coral and sunshine yellow – the pops of mint and gray really ground the collection and pull it all together perfectly. Sweet Prairie is the perfect second collection to Sedef’s first line Sweet Orchard, with so many of the prints and colourways coordinating beautifully.

I’m so thrilled to have been asked by Sedef to make something for the Sweet Prairie Blog Tour and am even more excited to share a new (free!) quilt pattern with you. I love working with Rollie Pollie strips (or any pre-cut really!) for quick quilt project. This Basket Weave Quilt pattern is so quick and easy, ticking all the boxes in my eyes. Such a perfect beginner project! Riley Blake Designs create pre-cut packs with 42 prints, ensuring that you get duplicates of each of the prints in a collection, which works perfectly for this design. The hardest part is breaking open those precious little bundles!

It’s been a while since I uploaded a free pattern download, and to thank you all for the support and love for both me and the Riley Blake Design family, I’m giving you this one! All I ask is you make it, love it and share it with your quilty friends!

The quilt is sewn on point, with each block rotated to give a fun, and effective overall design. Cassie Madge at Juicy Quilting, my go-to girl, quilted this little quilt in the most gorgeous floral edge to edge pattern with a new light weight batting product. Bound in coral gingham it’s the perfect quilt for those lazy, afternoon change-of-season snuggles on the verandah. I mentioned the colours were perfect right!?
