I love working with the team at Make Modern Magazine – I jump at any opportunity to contribute and this new mini quilt design is no exception. Such a fun, easy little quilt and perfect for using up your scraps or 5″ precuts. Treasure Chest is based on a design I have been working on, and is a miniature version of a project I hope to share with you all real soon.
I used the original Hope Chest fabric by Erin Turner for Penny Rose Fabrics {and am so excited that Hope Chest 2 is available now!!}. The quilt was finished with a decorative stitch on my Bernina 770QE – I will share a video tutorial as part of our new The Quiltmaker series on the Bernina Blog in early 2017. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter for full access to this tutorial once published!
This pattern is perfect for beginner quilters, or that quick-quilt project all set to gift for dolly. This sample is getting much love over here, and Poppy has taken to tucking in her teddies, and her dolls and even herself underneath it!
The pattern is available, along with so many other great quilt projects, and amazing articles in Issue 14 of Make Modern Magazine which is on sale now. Why not subscribe while you’re there?! Each edition is packed full of ideas and inspiration and is such a great supporter of the Australian and International quilt industries. At $34.95 AUD for twelve months it is such great value also.
I hope you love Treasure Chest as much as I do – remember to tag your photos or follow along at #treasurechestmini and #mylivelovesew
